Today I'm working on a t-shirt quilt for a customer made from her Toad Suck Daze t-shirts that she's collected over 30 years. Toad Suck Daze is an annual festival held in Conway, AR each Spring. It gets it's name from the nearby Toad Suck Ferry on the Arkansas River. Back when steamboats plied the Arkansas River waters, when the river became impassable due to low water levels, captains and their crews would tie up here and wait for levels to rise. While waiting, they would drink at a local tavern where it was said that they would "suck on the bottle until they swelled up like toads".  :) Should be an interesting quilt.
