Current project - vintage cross-stitched blocks

Here's some pics of what I'm working on right now for someone. She had twelve 17" blocks that her mother had cross-stitched decades ago and she wanted them made into a quilt top and quilted. So here's how things are looking right now with it.

  1. Wow that came out lovely. I also made myself a quilt with those blocks.

  2. Wow. How do you get that stippling so perfectly around the cross-stitching motif?

  3. It just takes some practice to get a feel for the control you have on the machine. After a while your eyes start moving ahead of where you're quilting so that your constantly looking forward to where you've going to be quilting ahead of the needle. With practice, it becomes quite easy and relaxing.
